Today’s inner city teenagers spend a lot of time in the dark. Shadows are cast by a street culture that bombards them with violence, gangs, drugs, lack of education and conflicting messages of right and wrong. Deep in their hearts reign a darkness that comes from feeling uncertain about their futures and a desire to feel wanted, accepted and loved.

New Life of New York City is a faith based youth outreach organization whose staff come to shine light into the darkness. We believe kids belong center stage with a spotlight beaming unconditional love on them. Whether it’s spending time at New Life’s recreation centers, getting help with homework, being a part of a step team, playing on New Life’s basketball or softball teams, developing the artistic talent of a gifted young artist, sharing in a bible study, going on trips or spending a week at summer camp doing incredible activities and hearing about God – staff build lasting friendships with kids. For over thirty five years, New Life has strived to put teenagers in the spotlight, showing them how important they are.
